Kuala Lumpur, October 24, 2019 – Co-Founder & CEO of Investree, Adrian Gunadi, was invited to become one of the speakers at the annual SCxSC Fintech Conference held by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) for 2 (two) days, October 22-23, 2019 at the SC Building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the only speaker from Indonesia, Adrian filled a panel session titled “Where Are All the Islamic Fintech Companies” on the second day, together with Kareem Taba (Wahed Invest) and Omar Rana (Finalytix). Adrian presented the development of fintech in the area of Islamic capital market. He also shared his experiences and challenges in establishing Investree to successfully acquired “licensed” status from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for conventional and sharia business.
Furthermore, in this panel session, Adrian and other speakers discussed how effectively can new fintech business ideas and innovative consumer experience practices, address the challenges in the Islamic finance space, to encourage responsible businesses, investors, and consumers. “In developing Investree Syariah services, we continue to adopt new technologies to widen and strengthen the Islamic capital market business space. The key words are convenience and speed. If these 2 (two) things can always be achieved, the gap in the market can be resolved. More and more SMEs are helped in terms of capital according to Islamic principles; the same goes for people who want to get returns comfortably according to their beliefs,” said Adrian.
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) hosted the sixth edition of its SCxSC Fintech Conference to scale up the local fintech industry, which has recently seen the entrance of new players following the regulator’s move to broaden the opportunities for under-served segments such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and new generation of investors to raise capital or achieve their financial goals.
